Meant to strike fear in the hearts of their enemies, the Helm of Awe ("Aegishjalmr") is linked with the power of the serpents, paralyzing their prey with their venom before striking in for the devastating kill.
In its simplest form, the Helm of Awe is made up of what appears to be a combination of four younger M-Runes and older Z-Runes, however, the symbol tends to change depending on its complexity.
A powerful and protective symbol, the purpose of the Helm of Awe is primarily for defense against illness and disease. It is often mentioned in Nordic culture as a symbol worn between the eyes to induce fright in enemies.
