Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 15, 2026.
Yavok LLC, 30 N Gould St, Ste N, Sheridan, WY, 82801, United States ("we", "Mythologis") respects your privacy. This page explains what we collect, why, and what your rights are.
1. What we collect
Information you give us:
- Email address when you subscribe to the newsletter or buy a book.
- Name + billing address when you purchase a book (collected by Stripe, our payment processor; we receive name and email only).
- Messages you send us via the contact email or phone.
Information collected automatically:
- Server logs: IP address, user-agent string, referring URL, request path, timestamp. Used to debug errors and detect abuse. Logs are kept for 30 days.
- Cookies: a strictly necessary consent-preference entry, Stripe's payment cookies during checkout, and (depending on your region and your choices) Google Analytics and advertising cookies. See the Cookie Policy for details.
2. Why we collect it
- Newsletter: to send you the articles and dispatches you signed up for. You can unsubscribe in one click from any email.
- Purchases: to fulfill your order (deliver the PDF), to issue refunds if requested, and to comply with tax law.
- Server logs: to keep the site up and detect malicious activity (bots, scrapers, payment fraud).
- Contact: to reply to your message.
We do not sell your personal information, and we never rent or trade your email or order data. If advertising cookies are enabled for your visit, Google processes data about your visit to show and measure ads, as described in section 4; you can withdraw that choice at any time.
3. Third parties we use
- Stripe Inc. (San Francisco, USA): payment processing. Stripe is PCI-DSS compliant and handles all card data; we never see your card number. Stripe Privacy Policy.
- Resend.com (San Francisco, USA): transactional email (order confirmations, newsletters). Resend Privacy Policy.
- Vercel Inc. (San Francisco, USA): site hosting + CDN. Vercel Privacy Policy.
- Sanity.io (Oslo, Norway): editorial CMS for our book catalog metadata. Sanity Privacy Policy.
- Google LLC (Mountain View, USA): site measurement (Google Analytics 4) and advertising (Google AdSense). Both run by default outside the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, where you can opt out at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer; within those regions they load only after your consent. Google Privacy Policy.
- GitHub Inc. (San Francisco, USA): source code + content delivery. GitHub Privacy Statement.
Each of these processes personal data under their own privacy policy, linked above. They act as data processors on our behalf.
4. Advertising (Google AdSense)
We may display ads served by Google AdSense on article pages. Here is exactly what that involves:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this Site and other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time in Google Ads Settings, and opt out of many other third-party advertising cookies at www.aboutads.info/choices.
- To learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from partner sites.
Outside the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, advertising cookies are enabled by default and you can turn them off at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer or the banner's "Reject all". Within the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, advertising requires your prior consent, collected through a Google-certified consent message. We honor the Global Privacy Control signal: if your browser sends GPC, advertising cookies stay off regardless of any other setting.
5. Your rights (GDPR + CCPA)
You can ask us to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data (the "right to be forgotten").
- Port your data to another service.
- Object to processing.
- Withdraw consent at any time.
Send any such request to [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.
California residents have additional rights under CCPA. We do not sell personal information.
6. Data retention
- Newsletter subscribers: kept until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days.
- Order data: kept for 7 years to comply with US tax law.
- Server logs: 30 days.
- Cookies: see the Cookie Policy.
7. International transfers
We are based in the United States. If you are in the EU, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and our processors' Data Processing Addenda for adequacy.
8. Children
Mythologis is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, email us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced via the newsletter and dated at the top of this page.
