Gods of War
Battle frenzy, strategy, and the dignity of the fallen.
War deities split into two recognisable lineages: the berserker and the strategist. On the berserker side: Ares, Tyr in his earliest layer, the Morrigan, Sekhmet, the Aztec Huitzilopochtli. On the strategist side: Athena, the late-Tyr who gives his hand to bind Fenrir, Inanna in her tactical aspect. The split corresponds to the two faces every army needs: the willingness to die and the discipline to win.
